The foremost thing you need to do as a NEET 2025 aspirant is to ensure that you fulfill the NEET 2025 eligibility criteria. You need to take care of many aspects - academic qualifications, nationality, and age. There are also many relaxations available for certain categories, so you may want to check if you fall under those categories as well. Here is a brief overview of the NEET age criteria:

  • Candidates should have passed or scheduled to appear for the Class 12 Board exam or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects
  • Candidates belonging to the General category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate and reserved category candidates should secure 45 per cent (General-PWD) and 40 per cent (SC, ST, OBC, Reserved PWD)
  • Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2025. Accordingly, the minimum date of birth of candidates should be December 31, 2008. There is no upper age limit.
  • Indian nationals/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/BDS from a foreign university also have to qualify for NEET 2025.

NEET 2025: Expected Changes in the Exam Pattern

  • Candidates will not need to present their Aadhar card to fill out the NEET 2025 application form. They can do so with any valid ID proof.
  • Students will be able to appear for the NEET 2025 exam in any of the two languages they prefer, in addition to the standard English language.
  • NEET 2025 scores will also be considered for admission to BSc Nursing courses.
  • Students from State Open Schools, NIOS, or private institutions will not be considered eligible to sit for the NEET 2025 exam.
  • Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also be a part of the 15% All India Quota scheme.
